How to Export Your AWS Cost Data

Part 1 One-Time Setup (5 min)

  1. 1. Open AWS Billing Console

    Go to console.aws.amazon.com/billing

  2. 2. Navigate to Data Exports

    In the left sidebar, click "Data Exports" under Cost Analysis

  3. 3. Create Export

    Click "Create" button

  4. 4. Choose Export Type

    Select "Standard data export"

  5. 5. Name Your Export

    Enter a name like "cost-analysis-report"

  6. 6. Configure Data Settings

    Check "Include resource IDs" for detailed analysis

  7. 7. Set Time Granularity

    Select "Hourly" for best analysis accuracy

  8. 8. Configure S3 Bucket

    Click "Configure", then create a new bucket or select existing one. Accept the default bucket policy.

  9. 9. Complete Setup

    Click "Create" to finish. AWS will start preparing your data.

Part 2 Download CSV (after 24 hours)

  1. 1. Open S3 Console

    Go to console.aws.amazon.com/s3

  2. 2. Find Your Bucket

    Click on the bucket you created for cost reports

  3. 3. Navigate to Current Month

    Open the folder for the current month (e.g., 20250101-20250201)

  4. 4. Download the CSV File

    Select the .csv or .csv.gz file and click "Download"

  5. 5. Upload Below

    Use the downloaded file in our upload form below
